We had a brilliant day celebrating World Book Day last week. In the week running up to the day we had a mobile book shop from Scholastic where children could browse the shelves and buy a book as well as donate a book to the school.
On the day, children and teachers dressed up in their favourite characters and welcomed parents into the school after drop off to share our love of reading.
After drop off, parents joined the children in their classes for breakfast and to read a book together which was then followed by our annual Book Day catwalk in the hall. Every child and teacher gets the chance to walk the catwalk on their own or with their friends to show off their costumes. It’s a brilliant event and these types of events allow children to build their confidence around others.
From whimsical wizards to roaring tigers, everyone looked fantastic and we can’t wait to celebrate next year!
